The Idaho Conservation League is hiring an Energy Efficiency Advocate to work in our Boise office. The Idaho Conservation League, Idahoís largest conservation organization, preserves Idaho's clean water, wilderness and quality of life.We are looking for an experienced, highly motivated person to implement our energy efficiency program. The associate must have several years of relevant experience, strong communication and writing skills, work well with others, and be willing to travel around the state. Formal training in an energy related field and/or in environmental law, are a plus.

Energy Efficiency Associate
Job Description FY 2008 (FTE: 100%)
Summary of Position:
The Energy Efficiency Associate is responsible for implementing the Idaho Conservation Leagueís energy efficiency program and implementing strategies to achieve the organizationís mission. The Associate will represent the Idaho Conservation League in decision-making arenas like the Idaho Public Utilities Commission and work throughout the year to identify and develop issues appropriate for advocacy work. The person in this position will work in conjunction with other staff to empower members, volunteers and the public to become involved in environmental issues and to work with elected officials and local and state government officials to bring about positive local and statewide environmental changes. The Community Conservation Director supervises the Energy Efficiency Associate. The Energy Efficiency Associate is a full time, exempt staff person.Key Outcomes:
- Represent the Idaho Conservation League at the Public Utilities Commission and other venues.
- Execute energy efficiency program.
- Engage and inform Idahoans to bring positive environmental changes through energy efficiency.
Position Responsibilities:
Conservation Program (85%)This position is responsible for implementing energy efficiency program. The ultimate goal of the energy efficiency program is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions through energy efficiency. This will include identifying issues and partners, developing strategies and tactics for the program to succeed, crafting needed materials, working with volunteers, elected officials and local and state government officials.
Outreach (10%)
The Energy Efficiency Associate will work to elevate conservation issues particularly energy efficiency within the broader community by engaging members and the public in priority community conservation campaigns.
Other (5%)
Participate in Idaho Conservation League meetings, retreats, etc., as needed and complete all required paperwork (timesheets, work plans, etc). Be involved with the drafting of foundation grant proposals and reports. Participate in fundraising and events as needed.
