Successes

The Idaho Legislature can seem like a harrowing wilderness sometimes. But Idaho Conservation League has spent 30 years here and is ready to be your guide.

We have a proud history of empowering Idahoans to protect their families, communities and special places through their Legislature. Working with our friends, neighbors and allies, we have helped pass many meaningful laws that protect our air, water and wildlife. These include the:

  • 2006 Two-year moratorium on coal-fired power plants
  • 2002 Idaho Wolf Conservation and Management Plan
  • 2000 Conservation easement tax benefit
  • 1999 Idaho Fish and Game Department funding
  • 1997 Surface Mining Act
  • 1994 Forest Practices Act Enforcement Fund
  • 1989 Clean Lakes Act
  • 1985 Strengthened Idaho's Surface Mining Act
  • 1978 Minimum Stream Flow Act
